Sergeant’s Pet Care Products hired the facility in question
to conduct its dental studies.
According to laboratory employees, two veterinary technicians who were
conducting the dental procedures seriously misused an anesthetic. We
informed Sergeant’s of this incident and asked that it stop using
contract testing laboratories to conduct dental—or any other—studies
and, instead, use dogs and cats whose human companions have volunteered
to monitor them.
Sergeant’s stated that it is investigating our allegations but
did not indicate whether or not it would continue to use animals in
laboratories to test its products. Please demand that Sergeant’s
stop using animals in laboratories:
