The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) buys pigs from
the facility in question.
On June 5, 2003, the Office of the Chancellor wrote, “Based on
the concerns you raise, we will look into this arrangement.” This
was the last we heard from UNC.
Please ask UNC to explain the steps that it has taken to ensure that
the facilities with which it does business are able and willing to
meet the pathetically minimal standards of the Animal Welfare Act:
